What we collect
- Your email address.
- Whether you're a parent, a teacher or school staff, if you choose to tell us. It's optional.
That's all. We never ask about your child, and the form has nowhere to put a child's information. The waitlist is for adults.
What we use it for
To tell you about HelioStep's launch: when it opens, and how to get it. Knowing whether you're a parent or a teacher lets us send the part that's useful to you. We don't use your email for ads, and we don't sell, rent or share the list with anyone.
Confirming your email
When you join, we send one email with a link. You're only on the list after you open it and tap Confirm, so no one can sign you up without you. The link works for 3 days. If you don't confirm, you're never added and we won't write again, though our email service keeps a short record of every email it sends, including that one.
So that no one can use the form to flood someone's inbox, we send at most one confirmation email per address an hour. For that hour we keep a scrambled fingerprint of the address, which can't be turned back into it, and then it's deleted.
Who handles it
Two companies help us run the waitlist, and each has its own privacy policy:
- Resend keeps the list and sends our emails. Resend's privacy policy
- Cloudflare hosts this site and runs Turnstile, the quick check that keeps bots off the list. Turnstile loads only when you use the form. Like any web host, Cloudflare sees your IP address when you visit and keeps it briefly in its logs; we don't use it for anything. Cloudflare's privacy policy
This site has no analytics, no ads and no tracking cookies.
Kept apart from the app
Your waitlist email is never added to the HelioStep app or its database. If you sign up for HelioStep after it opens, that's a separate account, and the app has its own privacy policy, which we'll publish before launch.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Once HelioStep has launched, the waitlist has done its job: we'll delete the whole list within 12 months of launch day.
Unsubscribe or delete
Every launch email has an unsubscribe link. To have your address removed completely, email [email protected] and we'll delete it from Resend.
